Thanks for stopping by my new blog. As you might gather from the title, this is where I will share news, pictures, and idle wanderings about my part of NYC – the southern half of Brooklyn. I’m excited about this. It’s something I’ve done intermittently over the past couple of years. I particularly enjoyed some of the walkabouts I posted at my old brianofbrooklyn.com site. It’s been a while since I’ve made a serious hobby out of it – I miss that, and I’m really ramped up about this new site.

I live in Bensonhurst, and I’m keen on Bay Ridge, Coney Island, and Brighton Beach – so expect plenty of pictures and bits from those nabes. But I plan on including all of the south of Brooklyn here, loosely defined by me as anything south of Greenwood Cemetery and the Prospect Expressway (though the Southier it is, the more likely I am to include it).

I will gladly take any tips or photos. Also – I wouldn’t mind taking on contributing authors. I am, after all, just one guy (with single-parenting responsibilities to boot). And Brooklyn, even when just narrowed down to its southerly half, is still a big place. So if you think you’d like to write here (for free – sorry kids, this is a non-commercial property), send me a note and we can talk about it.
